With temperatures in the 90s the last few weeks, it was beginning to seem that summer would never end.
So, when more seasonable weather arrived for the weekend, it was perfect timing for a festival in downtown Ironton.
Pumpkins on Vernon took place on Saturday, offering a fall theme.
The event was organized by Denise Coleman, owner of Cardinal Wishes Antiques and Valerie Freeman, of Treasure From the Valley gift shop, both located on Vernon Street.
Vendors lined the streets and a sizeable crowd, consisting of many families, browsed their booths, which included things ranging from clothing to crafts to lawn decorations.
The Ironton High School Varsity Singers performed at the center of the event, which ran all day and also featured food and a petting zoo.
