COAL GROVE — The Coal Grove Lady Hornets might just be starting to peak.
Coming off an upset of Ironton last Thursday, the Lady Hornets followed up with a three-set sweep as they beat the Rock Hill Redwomen 25-9, 25-8, 25-19 in an Ohio Valley Conference volleyball game on Tuesday.
“It was an overall team effort tonight,” said Lady Hornets’ coach Tricia Damron. “After coming off a big win last Thursday over a hard-hitting Ironton volleyball team, the girls were still improving as a team unit.”
Addi Dillow continued her strong play with eight points including three aces, 17 kills and 13 digs to pace the balanced Lady Hornets.
Caitlyn Dillon had nine points, two ace serves and 16 assists, Rylee Harmon 10 points and seven kills, Kaleigh Murphy 123 points with four ace serves and nine digs, Halley Booth nine points and 11 assists, Brooklyn Harmon three points with a kill and three digs, and Maddy Runyon three points and two digs.
Coal Grove host St. Joseph for senior night on Wednesday and ends the regular season with a league game against Chesapeake on Thursday.
