With the growing season coming to an end, the Ironton Farmers Market will close down for the year with the last day it is open being Saturday, Oct. 26.

We commend Ironton aLive for running the market for six successful years and using Market Square for so many things, whether it is associated with the market or not.

Every summer, Ironton aLive has Tuesday night concerts, free events that let people check out some of the finest local musicians the Tri-State has to offer.

The square is also used for several events, whether it the Heritage Festival and its car show, the Giving Back to Veterans event or just letting people set up tables during Ironton’s citywide yard sales.

We commend Ironton aLive for using a public area for so much and giving people a reason to get out of their houses and just have fun.
