It looks like Mother Nature does not want kids to have a happy Halloween.
Due to expected colder and windy weather on Thursday night, most towns and villages are moving Halloween trick or treating to Saturday.
Ironton, Coal Grove, Proctorville and Burlington have all moved trick or treat times to 6–8 p.m. on Saturday. South Point, Chesapeake will have trick or treat from 6–7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
The City of Huntington, West Virginia has moved trick or treat to 6-8 p.m. on Saturday.
Ashland, Kentucky posted on Facebook they are still having trick or treat from 6-7:30 p.m. on Thursday, but as the event draws closer, the city may re-evaluate that if the weather turns dangerous.
According to the National Weather Service, Thursday evening will be a wet one with temperatures around 6 p.m. being around 50 degrees with a 100 percent chance of precipitation with between a half and three quarters of an inch rain accumulation. There could be a west wind of 11-14 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.
