Cancer benefit
A bean dinner is set for 11 a.m.-4 p.m. to raise funds for Nancy Clark, who has been diagnosed with cancer and is traveling five days a week to undergo treatments. The event is planned to help with her travel and medical expenses, and food will be donated and served at Clark’s Fastlane in Arabia, followed by an auction.
Museum Tea
The annual Lawrence County Museum Christmas Tea will take place at 2 p.m. Call Kay Rader at 740-534-9477 for tickets.
The Witches
The Portsmouth Little Theatre, located at 1117 Lawson St. Portsmouth, will present an adaptation of Roald Dahl’s “The Witches.” The play begins at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $12/$15 and $5 for Shawnee State University students.
Symmes Valley BOE Meeting
The Symmes Valley Local School District Board of Education will have a special meeting at 8:30 a.m. in the high school lecture hall, 14778 State Route 141, Willow Wood. The purpose of the meeting is to consider the employment of a public employee.

Dawson-Bryant BOE Meeting
The Dawson-Bryant Board of Education will meet at 5 p.m. at the Dawson-Bryant Board of Education offices in Coal Grove.
River Hills Prevention Coalition Meeting
River Hills Prevention Coalition will meet at 3:30 p.m. in the Caucus Room at Ohio University Southern Campus.
Ironton School Board Meeting
Ironton City Schools will have a regular board meeting at 5:30 p.m. in the Ironton High School reading room.
South Point BOE Meeting
The South Point Board of Education will meet in special session at 6 p.m. at the board office to discuss personnel.

Land Bank Meeting
The Lawrence County Land Bank will meet at noon at its office located 327 Vernon St., Ironton.
Breast Cancer Support Group
The Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital Breast Cancer Support Group will meet at noon on the hospital campus at Bellefonte Pavilion, 2000 Ashland Drive, in the conference room on the first floor. It is a potluck lunch and party for the breast cancer support group. To RSVP, call (606) 833-3253.
