— Lawrence County will have a public hearing from 2-4 p.m. on Friday in the commissioners’ office at the courthouse to get comments on regulations affecting land design and construction for the minimization of soil erosion and sedimentation. The proposed regulations are part of the county’s requirements being fulfilled for the Storm Water Management Plan as required by the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency Phase II program. The Storm Water Management Plan for Lawrence County and the Draft Soil Erosion and Sediment Control Standards can be viewed at the Lawrence County Commissioners’ office on third floor of the courthouse or at the Lawrence Soil and Water Conservation District Office, 5459 State Route 217, Willow Wood. — Per orders of the Lawrence County Commissioners, 2020 dog tags go on sale Dec. 21–Jan 31 at the following locations: Lawrence County Auditor’s Office, Lawrence County Animal Shelter, Jim’s Gun Shop, Dickess Market, South Point Storage, and Pine Tree Carry Out. The price is $16 per dog, $12 per spayed/neutered dog or $48 for a three year tag per dog.
— Feed the Fire raffle is being held for a new Henry 45/70 lever action rifle. All proceeds go to the JD Coffman Memorial Scholarship Fund. Chances are $1 and the winner will be drawn Dec. 21. — The Ladies 9-Hole Golf Association meets at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesdays at the Ironton Country Club, with play at 10 a.m.

— Lawrence County Developmental Disabilities has its monthly meetings at 6 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month at the board office, 606 Carlton Davidson Lane, Coal Grove.
— The WIC Office, located 203 Center St. in Ironton, will have a walk-in clinic from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. on Dec. 27.

— Nancy’s Nook, 106 N. Third St., Ironton, is open on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Items for sale include glassware, pictures, angels, greeting cards, kitchen and workshop items, furniture, sports cards, candles, purses and more. — Those who want to obtain a permit to carry a concealed weapon from the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office should call 740-532-3525 and schedule an appointment. This is essential since staff is not always available to process these permits.
— The Ironton American Legion Post 433 hosts a pool tournament at 7 p.m. every Tuesday, a card night at 7 p.m. every Thursday and karaoke from 8:30 p.m.-12:30 a.m. every Friday. The post’s hours are 2 p.m.-1 a.m. Tuesday through Friday and noon-1 a.m. Saturday and Sunday. It is located at 310 S. Third St., Ironton.
