Myrtle White

June 5, 1938 – Nov. 27, 2019

Myrtle Catherine Wells White, 81, of South Point, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2019. at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington, West Virginia. The Morehead, Kentucky, native was born June 5, 1938, a daughter of the late Denzel and Minnie “Lowe” Wells. She is survived by her loving husband, Bob White.

Mrs. White graduated from Rowan County High School, Morehead, Kentucky, and spent her life caring for her family and made sure her family always came first, she was especially devoted to her autistic son, Jesse. Myrtle was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Anna Lee Morrison; and a brother, Calvin Wells.

In addition to her husband Myrtle is survived by three sons: Jesse White, of South Point, Stephen (Gina) White, of London, Kentucky, and Ed White, of South Point; two daughters, Kim Pinkerman, of South Point, and Jean Nichols, of South Point; a sister, Jean Wells, of Winter Haven, Florida; eight grandchildren, Bobby (Katie) White, of Huntington, West Virginia, Chris Pinkerman, of South Point, Tristan Lunsford, of South Point, Catherine Nichols of South Point, Jackson White of London, Kentucky, Anden White, of London, Kentucky, Danika White, of London, Kentucky, and Scarlett White, of London, Kentucky; three step-grandchildren, Tyler Noble, Gavin Noble, Reece Noble and Ace Allen, all of London, Kentucky.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Phillips Funeral Home 1004 S. Seventh St., Ironton, with Rev. Roger Lavender and Rev. Butch Deer officiating.

Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Gardens, South Point. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.

George Hunter

July 9, 1947 – Nov. 28, 2019

George “Greg” Hunter, 72, of Pedro, passed away Thursday, Nov. 28, 2019, at his residence. The Lawrence County native was born July 9, 1947, the son of the late George Hunter and Audrey McKee Hunter.

Greg was a graduate of Ironton High School and was a former coating line controller for AK Steel, where he retired after 38 years. He was also a United States Army veteran who served during the Vietnam War.

He is survived by two daughters: Shay Richendollar, of Ironton, and Leah Hunter; a stepdaughter, Melanie Deerfield, of Franklin Furnace; a stepson, Jayson Richendollar, of Pedro; and eight grandchildren.

Gary Wilson

Oct. 11, 1945 – Nov. 28, 2019

Gary Eugene Wilson, 74, of Ironton, passed away Thursday, Nov. 28, 2019, at Our Lady Bellefonte Hospital in Russell, Kentucky. The Ironton native was born Oct. 11, 1945, a son of the late Freda Schug Wilson and Grover Cleveland Wilson Jr.

Mr. Wilson was a graduate of Rock Hill High School and a United States Army veteran. He was a former employee of the Sement-Solvay Coke Plant, the Lawrence County General Hospital and retired from the Oak Ridge Treatment Center. Gary loved to coon hunt and was a member of Southern Ohio Coon Club. He also loved to sit on his front porch with his family and spend time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Jean Abrams Wilson who died Oct. 10, 2014; one brother, Paul Wilson; three sisters, Louann McGuire, Jenny Unrue-Crum and Connie Lake.

He is survived by three sons, Gary D. (Suzanna) Wilson, Jeffrey Ray (Leslie) Wilson and Billy Dale (Jessica) Wilson all of Ironton; six grandchildren, D.J. (D.J.) Wilson, Shandra Wilson, Amber Wilson, Katie Coleman, Kaylan Spaulding and Noah Wilson; four great-grandchildren, Peyton Wilson, Macie Wilson, Oliver Fannin and Rowan Fannin; his dog, Rosie; a brother, John Wilson, of Ironton; a sister, Brenda Collingsworth, of Ironton.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday at the Tracy Brammer-Monroe Funeral Home, 518 S. Sixth St. Ironton, with Bro. Dave Schug officiating. Burial will follow in Sugar Creek Cemetery with military honors provided by Ironton VFW Post #8850. The Wilson family will receive friends on Monday noon until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Pamela Keeney

Pamela Sue Brumfield Keeney, 66, of Proctorville, died Thursday, Nov. 28, 2019.

She is survived by her husband, Bruce Keeney.

Funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville. Burial will follow in Miller Memorial Gardens, Miller. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
