WILLOW WOOD — Somebody please check the “Lost & Found.” The Symmes Valley Lady Vikings’ offense is missing.
The Lady Vikings shot just 21 percent in a 54-29 loss to the New Boston Lady Tigers on Monday in a Southern Ohio Conference game.
Symmes Valley (1-2, 0-1) trailed 26-18 at the half but then struggle to score in the second half.
“New Boston played really well.,” said Lady Vikings’ coach Shannon Pierce. “We got off to a bad start. We got within 8 at halftime but we really struggled in the second half.”
Kenzie Whitley had 6 points as New Boston took a 14-6 first quarter lead. Kylee Thompson had 4 points for the Lady Vikings.
Each team scored 12 points in the second quarter as Rachael Hayes scored all 6 of her points and Thompson added 5 more to make it 26-18 at the half.
But the Lady Vikings only managed a basket by Hailee Littlejohn in the third quarter and fell behind 37-20.
Thompson had 9 points, four rebounds and two assists to pace the Lady Vikings. Jenna Malone had seven rebounds and Kaylee Cade handed out four assists.
Lexus Oiler scored 17 points and Shelly Easter 15 for New Boston (2-2, 1-0).
Symmes Valley goes to Western on Thursday.
