The Coal Grove Christmas Parade is scheduled for 6 p.m. Line-up for those in the parade is 5:15 p.m.

Journey to Bethlehem

First Baptist Church of South Point will host a Journey to Bethlehem from 6-9 p.m. for a guided tour. Parking is available for cars, trucks and church buses. Come early and experience the journey. Light refreshments served at the end of each tour.

Saturday

Cookies With Santa

Cookies with Santa will be 10 a.m. to noon at Community of Christ, 308 Ellison Street, Ironton. Santa will be there with cookies and milk to share. There will be a hot chocolate bar, magic reindeer food to take home and a story with Santa.

People for the Point Christmas

People for the Point’s annual Christmas Extravaganza will take place at South Point High School from 8 a.m.-3 p.m., featuring pancakes and pictures with Santa, a craft vendor area, a kid’s area and a showing of Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer at 1 p.m. Admission to vendor and kid’s area is free. Breakfast is $5 per plate and free for those under five with a paying adult.

Breakfast with Santa

Breakfast with Santa will take place at Symmes Valley High School from 9 a.m.-noon in support of the school’s band and boosters. Pancakes and sausage, milk, orange juice, coffee or hot chocolate for $5 per person. A Winter Wonderland will have a skating rink where the kids can skate in their socks, make crafts and play games. Adults can browse vendors. Kaptured by Kay will be on hand to take pictures. Interested vendors can contact Kelly Napier.

Historic Church Walk

The Lawrence County Museum’s Historic Church Walk, offering a tour of the city’s places of worship, will begin at 5 p.m. at First Baptist Church. Cider and cookies will be served at the museum for the final stop on the walk. Event is free and open to the public.

Jingle Bell Charity Ball

The 20th annual Jingle Bell Charity Ball will take place from 7 p.m. – midnight at Blue Grass RV, located at 7405 U.S. Route 60 in Ashland. The semi-formal dance will include a night of music with the Party Bus band, catered dinner and drinks by Smokin J’s and a large charity auction and will support the Community Assistance and Referral Service. Tickets can be purchased for $75 per person. Attendees are asked to bring an unwrapped gift to be utilized as part of CAReS Christmas Giving Tree initiative.

Varsity Singers Concert

The Ironton High School Varsity Singers will host their annual Christmas concert, Christmas by Candlelight, in the school’s auditorium at 5 p.m.

White Christmas Sing-along

The Paramount Arts Center in Ashland will host an interactive sing-along during a screening of the 1954 film, “White Christmas” at 2 p.m. Tickets are $15.

Santa Claus will visit the South Point branch of the Briggs Lawrence County Public Library at 6 p.m.

Library Christmas Celebration

A Christmas celebration, for ages 4-10, will take place at the Symmes Valley branch of the Briggs Lawrence County Public Library at 3 p.m.

Gingerbread House Decorating party

The Greater Huntington Park & Recreation District will host a Gingerbread House Decorating Party at the St. Cloud Commons Lodge at 6 p.m. to decorate your own gingerbread house. There will also be refreshments and music. Pre-assembled houses and decorating materials are provided for a cost of $25. Register at ghprd.org or visit the GHPRD Office in Heritage Station.

Great Russian Nutcracker

The Moscow Ballet will present The Great Russian Nutcracker, featuring local dancers in the cast, at 7 p.m. at The Paramount Arts Center in Ashland. Tickets are $45-50. For more information, visit the PAC website.
