For the Sciotoville East Tartans, these are the night that cause you nightmares.
The Flyers dream of red-hot shooting came true as they hit 14 3-pointers and rolled past the cold-shooting East Tartans 86-27 in a Southern Ohio Conference game on Friday.
Nine of the 12 roster players scored as they all saw action. The Flyers had four players in double figures with Zach Roach scored 21 points to lead all scorters and Ryan Paune drained six 3-pointers to score 18 points.
Jimmy Mahlmeister finished with 13 points and Jackson Rowe had 11 off the bench.
Austin Smith scored 8 points for East (0-3, 0-2).
St. Joseph (2-0, 1-0) settled the outcome in rapid fashion by outscoring East 36-4 in the first quarter.
Roach hit both his 3-pointers and scored 14 points, Mahlmeister hit a trifecta and scored 7 while Payne hit a pair of triples and Matt Sheridan had 5 points including a 3-pointer.
Rowe — who hit three 3-pointers — scored 5 points including a long-range bomb and Sheridan added another trey as the Flyers built a 53-11 halftime cushion.
Payne buried three more trifectas, Rowe hit a pair and Mahlmeister had 6 points before they all sat down and the Flyers took an 81-20 lead.
