CHESAPEAKE — The Chesapeake Panthers like to run and gun, and right now they are shooting like Harry Callahan and his .44 magnum.
After scoring 84 points in their first game, the Panthers followed that with a 76-52 Ohio Valley Conference win over the Rock Hill Redmen on Tuesday.
Levi Blankenship scored 16 points and Trent Dearth 15 as eight different players scored for the Panthers (2-0, 1-0).
Jacob Schwab and Braden Stamper scored 13 points each for the Redmen (1-2, 0-1).
Dearth hit a 3-pointer and scored 7 points while Blankenship had 4 points to give the Panthers a 15-8 first quarter lead.
Ethan Taylor scored 6 points in the second quarter, Dilen Caldwell hit a 3-pointer and Dearth was 4-of-5 at the line as Chesapeake extended its lead to 38-21 at the half.
Brayden Malone and Schwab scored 4 points each and Owen Hankins hit a 3-pointer in the second quarter for Rock Hill.
Nathan Cox had a triple and scored 7 points while Josh Cox and Blankenship each hit a trifecta and scored 5 points as the Panthers widened the lead to 61-34 at the end of the third quarter.
Stamper had 7 points including a trey while Garrett Miller also hit a 3-pointer for the Redmen in the quarter.
Blankenship and Lemley combined for 11 points in the fourth quarter as the Panthers got the easy conference win.
Schwab scored 8 points, Logan Hankins knocked down a pair of 3’s and Nick Van Kueren came off the bench to hit a trey for the Redmen in the fourth quarter.
On Friday, Chesapeake visits Portsmouth while Rock Hill is tentatively scheduled to host Ironton although the game may be re-scheduled for a later date due to Ironton’s deep run in the playoffs.
