The Ironton Lions Club recently gave a donation to the Ironton City Mission to help the Mission with Christmas toys and food baskets. In 2018, Christmas toys were given to 690 children and Christmas food baskets were afforded to 470 families.

This year’s donation from the Lions will bolster the assistance that the Mission provides to our community.

The City Welfare Mission was organized in 1944 for the purpose of caring for the unfortunate of Ironton and Lawrence County. Since that time, thousands of people have found help in time of need at the Mission. The Ironton Lions Club is proud to be a Friend of the Mission.

The Mission also received a donation of toys from the Ironton Co-Op Club.

The toys helped with the Mission’s effort to provide toys to less fortunate children and families during the Christmas season.
