PROCTORVILLE — The Fairland Lady Dragons settled this one from the start.
Fairland built a 19-point lead in the first quarter and rolled to a 69-41 Ohio Valley Conference win over the Portsmouth Lady Trojans on Thursday.
Keying the win for the Lady Dragons was Tomi Hinkle who drained six 3-pointers and scored 20 points.
Fairland (8-9, 7-3) went ahead 21-2 in the first quarter as Hinkle hit a pair of 3-pointers as she scored 8 points and Harlie Lyons also hit another 3-pointer while Jenna Stone added 4 points.
It was Stone who hit a pair of 3-pointers in the second quarter and Emma Marshall scored 4 points as the lead grew to 38-14 at the half.
Jaiden Rickett and Hannah Hughes combined for 11 of the Lady Trojans’ 12 points in the quarter.
Hinkle was back at it again in the third quarter with two more 3-pointers and Emma Marshall hit a 3-pointer and scored 5 points to extend the lead to 54-29.
Rickett and Nia Trinidad each hit 3-pointers and both Rickett and Skilyn Robinson scored 5 points apiece for the Lady Trojans in the quarter.
Hinkle had two more triples and Katie Brumfield hit a 3-pointer off the bench in the fourth quarter. Hughes had 6 points including a 3-pointer for Portsmouth.
Rickett had 15 points and Hughes 14 to lead the Lady Trojans (4-9, 1-9).
Fairland host Tri-State Hoops Throwdown on Saturday.
