SCIOTOVILLE — The Symmes Valley Lady Vikings used three facets of the game to get their latest win.
The Lady Vikings turned in a team effort as they beat the Sciotoville East Lady Tartans 69-41 Southern Ohio Conference game on Thursday.
“We played smart, we played hard and we played together,” said Lady Vikings’ coach Shannon Pierce. “We were really balanced on offense and we shot the ball really well.”
The Lady Vikings (5-11, 4-7) hit 43 percent of their shots to get the win and had four players in double figures.
Jenna Malone had 15 points and 7 rebounds to lead the Lady Vikings. Payton Hunter and Taylor Sells scored 11 points each and Rachael Hayes scored 10 points.
Hunter got 5 steals and both Hayes and Malone had 2 assists.
Grace Smith scored a game-high 19 points for East (0-16, 0-11).
Malone scored 8 points and Hayes hit a 3-pointer and scored 7 points as Symmes Valley took a 23-14 first quarter lead.
Smith had 11 of East’s points.
Sells hit a trey and scored 5 points while Malone got 4 more to give the Lady Vikings a 38-25 halftime lead.
Symmes Valley held East to 6 points in the third quarter to open up a 53-31 cushion.
Hunter had 5 points as she and Sells each hit 3-pointers in the quarter.
Lauren Wells, Hailee Gordon and Kylee Thompson scored 4 points each in the fourth quarter for the Lady Vikings.
Symmes Valley plays at Portsmouth Clay next Thursday.
