PROCTORVILLE — It was like night and day.
The night was a first half offense for the Fairland Lady Dragons, and the day was the second half that saw the light shine on their scoring as they routed the Raceland Lady Rams 63-25 on Saturday in the Tri-State Hoops Throwdown.
The Lady Dragons led 20-12 at the half, then outscored Raceland 43-13 in the second half as they cruised to the win.
Fairland (9-) had three players in double figures led by Harlie Lyons who made five 3-pointers and finished with 17 points. Miaa Howard had a career-high 13 points and Jenna Stone added 10.
Kiersten Smith had 5 points as she and Emilee Garvin each hit 3-pointers as the Lady Rams took a 12-10 lead. Howard had 5 points for Fairland.
The Fairland defense held Raceland scoreless in the second quarter and Lyons and Tomi Hinkle had 3-pointers to make it 20-12 at the half.
Lyons lit it up in the third quarter with three more 3-pointers and Howard scored 6 points as Fairland pulled away to a 41-23 lead. Chloe Collins got 4 points for the Lady Rams.
The Lady Dragons outscored Raceland 22-2 in the fourth quarter as Sone hit a pair of 3-poiners and scored 8 points and seven different players scored to fuel the offensive surge.
Fairland visits Gallipolis on Thursday.
