Meet the Candidates

The Lawrence County Meet the Candidates Committee will have a Meet the Candidates Night at 7 p.m. at Fairland West Elementary in Rome Township. Candidates for offices in the March primary ballot will appear. Event is free and open to the public.

Ironton City Council

Ironton City Council will meet at 6 p.m. in council chambers on the third floor of the City Center. It is open to the public. The finance committee will meet at 5:30 p.m. to discuss a salary resolution.

Coal Grove Council

The Coal Grove Village Council will meet at 6 p.m. at village hall.

Greenup County Genealogy Meeting

The Greenup County Genealogy and Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. in the Community Room at the Greenup Library. There will be a video on Ancestry’s Thru Lines. The club will vote for officers for 2020. Everyone is welcome.

Lodge Meeting

Lawrence Lodge No. 198 F.&A.M. special meeting, work in the E.A. Degree. Refreshments at 6 p.m., work to begin at 7 p.m. Cody Crawford, W.M.

ESC Meetings

The Lawrence County Educational Service Center will have a records commission meeting at 2 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 24. Immediately afterwards, the governing board will have its organizational meeting and a special meeting. The meetings will be at the ESC building, 304 N. Second St., Ironton.

Saturday

LIFE Leadership Workshop

The Community of Christ will have a one-day Life (Leading Intentionally for Eternity) Leadership workshop from 9 a.m.–3 p.m. on Jan. 25. The workshop will focus on your aspirational ambitions and equipping area leaders to serve the community. The speaker will be Marcus Williams, PT, DPT, MBA, who is from Ironton. Cost is $20, go to eventbrite.com for tickets and information. The church is located at 308 Ellison St., Ironton.

Dawson-Bryant BOE Meeting

The Dawson-Bryant Board of Education will meet at 5 p.m. at the BOE offices.

Black History Month Event

Reggie Hanson, a motivational speaker and life coach, will speak at 12:15 p.m. during a Community Diversity and Inclusion forum at Ashland Community and Technical College’s J.B. Sowards Theatre. Hanson was an All-SEC Conference player at the University of Kentucky and is president of Hanson Coaching & Consulting LLC.
