SOUTH POINT — The South Point Board of Education said it is scheduling a special meeting for Wednesday, in which it will receive a report on an investigation involving an incident at the middle school.
The board said it was aware of postings on social media and comments about the incident on Wednesday and said, in response, the superintendent of the Lawrence County Educational Service Center, Jeff Saunders, has agreed to investigate the matter and will report to the board at the special meeting.
The meeting will take place at 6 p.m. at the board office, the news release said.
Posts on social media were shared earlier in the week containing audio of what was purported to be a cell phone recording of faculty members speaking angrily with a student.
