Sweeney’s 3-pointer at the buzzer gives Green OT win over Fairview

FRANKLIN FURNACE — By getting a 3, Kame Sweeney got a first and that got the Green Lady Bobcats a win.
Sweeney hit her first career 3-point goal with one second left and it gave Green a 46-43 win over the Fairview Lady Eagles in overtime on Wednesday.
Kasey Kimbler scored a game-high 20 points to lead the Lady Bobcats with Sweeney scoring 14.
The win makes Green 14-5 and avenges a 53-37 loss earlier this season.
Fairview (17-4) was led by Gracie Crisp and Jordan Rakes with 10 points each.
The game was tied at 11 to end the first quarter.
Kimbler hit a 3-pointer and scored 7 points for Green while Josey Nelson made two 3-pointers and scored all 8 of her points for Fairview.
Sweeney and Kimbler scored 4 points each and Kimberly Brown made a 3-pointer as Green took a 24-22 halftime lead.
Rachel Hanshaw scored 4 points and Crisp had a 3-pointer for the Lady Eagles.
Fairview outscored Green 10-4 in the third quarter to take a 32-28 lead. Rakes hit a 3-poitner and was 5-of-6 at the foul line.
But in the fourth quarter, Crisp had the lone Fairview field goal as Green rallied to tie the game as Sweeney scored 3 points and Brown added a basket.
In overtime, Kimbler scored 6 points, Sweeney had 5 points and Green was 3-of-4 at the line.
Crisp hit a 3-poitner and had 5 points for Fairview.
