Redwomen fall to N-Y

JACKSON — The storm moved inside.
Rock Hill was hanging close against the heavily-favored Nelsonville-York Lady Buckeyes when the point storm hit and left the Redwomen with a 57-21 loss in the Division 3 sectional tournament on Thursday.
Rock Hill was down 16-12 after the first quarter and got within 16-14 early in the second quarter.
But the offense disappeared as N-Y outscored the Redwomen 41-7 the rest of the game and advanced to the sectional finals Saturday against South Point at 6:15 p.m.
The Lady Buckeyes (19-4) were led by Grace Sinnott with 16 points including four 3-pointers. Nelsonville-York was 10-of-18 from behind the arc.
Mackenzie Hurd and Cayleigh Dupler scored 11 each for N-Y.
Rock Hill was paced by Lucy Simpson with 12 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists.
The Redwomen end the season 6-17.
