Floodplain Appeals Board

The Lawrence County Floodplain Appeals board will conduct a variance public hearing from 10 a.m.-noon. This hearing will be conducted at the Joint Response Operations Center, 715 Lane St., Coal Grove. The purpose of the hearing is to render a decision on a variance request.

The Concerned Citizens of Burlington will host a Meet the Candidates event for the primary election at 6 p.m. at Burlington Elementary.

Planning Commission Meeting

The Lawrence County Regional Planning Commission will hold its regular monthly meeting 11 a.m. at the Giovanni’s in Chesapeake.

DD Town Hall

The Lawrence County Friends of DD will have a town hall meeting at 7 p.m. in Ohio University Southern’s Riffe Building. Under discussion will be the role of the agency in the county and the levy which will be on the March 17 ballot.

BOE Work Session

The Ironton City Board of Education will meet at 5:30 p.m. at the administration building for a work session. The purpose of the Work Session is to discuss the strategic plan, budget, vision and goals.

Harvest for the Hungry will be celebrating National Pig Day with a soup and grilled cheese fundraiser from noon-2 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, 101 N. Fifth St., Ironton. Suggested donation of $3.50.
