Mary Grubb

Nov. 3, 1952–March 4, 2020

Mary Elizabeth (Thomas) Grubb, 67, of Ironton, passed away on March 4, 2020, at her residence. She was born Nov. 3, 1952, the daughter of the late John and Sarah Hensley Thomas.

Mary attended Boyd County Schools and was an assistant cook for the Lawrence County CAO Senior Center. She enjoyed cooking, reading, listening to music and taking nature walks, but her two favorite loves in life were spending time with her grandchildren and cheering on her UK Wildcats.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a stepson, William Dickerson Jr.; sister, Charlotte Rister; and two brothers, John Jeffery Thomas and Darrell Glen Thomas.

Those left to cherish Mary’s memory include fiancé, George Bundy, of Ironton; daughter, Donna (Krystal) Chadwick, of South Point; a grandson, Steven Payne, of Wichita, Kansas; a granddaughter, Brytni Shotsky, of South Point; seven brothers and sisters; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Tracy Brammer-Monroe Funeral Home, 518 S. Sixth St., Ironton. Family will receive friends from noon until the time of the service at the funeral.

Sherman Kay

Sherman Preston Kay, 70, of Huntington, West Virginia, died Monday March 3, 2020, at home.

There will be no services.

Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Kevin Coleman

Kevin Patrick Coleman, 57, of Albany, Georgia, formerly of South Point, died Thursday, Feb. 27, 2020.

A homegoing celebration will be held 1 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church of Burlington, Burlington, with Rev. Melvin Freeman officiating. Friends may visit from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday at the church.
