FRISCO, Texas – Marshall men’s basketball opens the 2020 Air Force Reserve C-USA Men’s Basketball Championship presented by Baylor Scott & White Sports Performance Center at The Star with 11th-seeded UTEP on Wednesday night.

Junior Jarrod West was named to the Conference USA all-defensive and was named third-team all-conference.
Sophomore Taevion Kinsey was named to the all-conference second-team, while redshirt freshman Andrew Taylor was named to the C-USA all-freshman team.
Marshall closed out Bonus Play with a 3-1 record after an 82-77 win at UTSA on Saturday. It has a record of 7-1 in Bonus Play the last two seasons.
The Thundering Herd men’s basketball team is the only program to win 10 conference games in each of the last five seasons.
West leads Conference USA with 65 steals this season.
MU took its lone meeting from the Miners this season in El Paso on Feb. 15 by a score of 71-61.
Kinsey leads Marshall with 16.1 points per game and 131 assists this season.
SCOUTING UTEP
Since falling to Marshall, UTEP has gone on a four-game win streak as it went undefeated in Bonus Play.
Bryson Williams leads UTEP in scoring with 17.6 points per game, rebounding at 7.1 and in blocks with 27. Williams has won three Conference USA Player of the Week awards this season, one fewer UTSA Jhivvan Jackson who has won four. Williams was named first-team all-conference on Monday.
Souly Boum is second in scoring with 12.5 points per game and is third with 25 steals.
The Miners are shooting 42.5 percent from the field, while holding opponents to 41.4 percent from the field this season.
