BOE Meeting Canceled

The Chesapeake Board of Education’s special meeting scheduled for Wednesday at the middle school, for the purpose of considering district operations, has been canceled.

Buckeye Rural Electric

Buckeye Rural Rio Grande and Linville offices will be closed to the public until further notice. They will continue to accept phone calls and provide service to members via the drive-thru window. They only plan to meet face-to-face on an as needed basis and by appointment when possible.

South Point Rummage Sale

The village of South Point has postponed its annual spring rummage sale to a later date, to be announced.

Ironton Kresge Reunion Postponed

The reunion of the employees of the Ironton Kresge store has been postponed due to restaurants being closed for the coronavirus. It will be rescheduled at a later date.

County Commissioners Meeting

The Lawrence County Commissioners meetings are now closed to the public but can be viewed on the commissioners’ Facebook page.

Planning Commission Meeting Canceled

At this time, the Lawrence County Regional Planning Commission meeting schedule for today at the Giovanni’s in Chesapeake will be cancelled due to the coronavirus.

Dysert Family Concert Canceled

The Jackson Avenue Church of God Holiness in Huntington, West Virginia, has canceled the Dysert Family concert scheduled for Saturday due to the coronavirus.

Chamber Fourth Friday Canceled

The Chamber of Commerce has canceled its Fourth Friday luncheon at the Proctorville Center on March 27. Its next luncheon has been tentatively scheduled for April 24 at Ohio University Southern.  That will be its scholarship luncheon.

Egg Hunt Postponed

The Village of Chesapeake has postponed its Easter Egg Hunt. It was scheduled for March 28.

PERI Meeting

PERI Chapter 62 has canceled its meeting on April 1, per recommendations from its state organization, due to the coronavirus.

Planning Commission Meeting Canceled

At this time, the Lawrence County Regional Planning Commission meeting at the Giovanni’s on April 13 in Chesapeake will be canceled due to the coronavirus.
