Man killed in Route 93 crash: Pedro resident dies after succumbing to injuries

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP — A Pedro man was killed Wednesday in a two-vehicle crash on State Route 93.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the accident took place at about 7:49 a.m. near milepost 23 in Washington Township.
Troopers said Jason A. Stamper, 36, was driving northbound on State Route 93. At the same time, a 2005 Dodge Durango driven by Roger D. Miller, 24, of Oak Hill was driving southbound. Stamper’s vehicle traveled left of center and struck Miller’s vehicle, troopers said. Stamper, who was unrestrained at the time of the crash, was transported to St. Mary’s Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries. Miller was transported to the Cabell-Huntington Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Assisting on scene with the OSHP was the Decatur Fire Department, Washington Township and Madison-Jefferson Fire Departments, as well as the Lawrence County EMS.
