HUNTINGTON — A popular yearly tradition at a Tri-State restaurant is on hold for now.

For the past four decades, Jim’s Spaghetti and Steak in Huntington has hosted Strawberry Pie Week on the week after Mother’s Day.

The desserts, made from fresh berries, are an enormously popular draw at the business, with customers lining up around the block for the slices, which are always limited to one per customer.

But, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the restaurant said they are indefinitely postponing the event this year.

“We are hoping to put a plan in place for the future,” a message on their Facebook page read.

In the meantime, Jim’s will be selling pints and quarts of frozen sauce through curbside delivery this week, Wednesday through Friday, from noon-5 p.m. and Saturday from 11 a.m.-3 p.m.
