Ron Simpson ran in the very first Run-By-The-River and has missed running only a few times in the last 43 years. Simpson is the current mayor of Russell, Ky. Runners may register for this year’s virtual race — which can be run anywhere in the world — up until 10 p.m. Saturday. Runners must report their times by midnight.
