Acton to discuss COVID-19 with children on Sesame Street special
Program to air Saturday morning
Former Ohio Department of Health Director Amy Acton will discuss the COVID-19 pandemic with children and take questions, along with Sesame Street characters on a CNN special on Saturday.
“The ABCs of Covid-19” will be moderated by Dr. Sanjay Gupta and air at 10 a.m.
Along with Acton and the show’s Muppet cast will be medical experts, as well as appearances from Olympic gold medal gymnasts Simone Biles and Laurie Hernandez, as well as Sonja Santelises, the CEO of Baltimore City Schools.
Acton, whose leadership in the state during the pandemic garnered her national commendation, announced her resignation as health director on Thursday.
She will continue as a medical advisor to Gov. Mike DeWine, while Lance Himes, the department’s general counsel, will serve as interim director.
