Ann Douglas

Sept. 4, 1941–June 8, 2020

 

Ann Winters Douglas, 78, of South Point, went to be with our Lord on Monday, June 8, 2020, after her battle with cancer.

 

She was born on Sept. 4, 1941, in Lawrence County, to the late Harold and Mabel Baker Winters.

 

Ann was married for 52 years to the late Gary Rolph Douglas.

 

One brother, Bill Winters; and two sisters, Phyllis Winters Williams and Pauline Winters Williams, preceded her in death.

 

She is survived by one sister, Katie Winters Lang, of West Winfield, New York; son, David

Douglas and his wife Susie, of Killeen, Texas; one daughter, Susan Douglas Gover, of

Raleigh, North Carolina; and two grandchildren, Dusti Lynann Douglas, of Belton, Texas, and Garet

Andrew Douglas, of Killeen, Texas.

 

Ann was an active member of Ice Creek Missionary Baptist Church. She was a graduate of Coal Grove High School and Marshall University.

 

She leaves behind a legacy that includes 30 years of educating students in the Dawson Bryant School District. She was loved and cherished by many.

 

Ann will be laid to rest in the Central Texas State Veteran’s Cemetery in Killeen, Texas, next to Gary to carry on their life of being “Rich in Love.”

Hazel Smith

Hazel Alene Smith, 81, of Ironton, died Sunday, June 28, 2020, at her residence.

 

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Calvary Baptist Church, 824 S. Fifth St., Ironton, with Rev. Matt O’Bryant officiating. Visitation will be 11 a.m. until time of the service at the church. Burial will follow in Sugar Creek Cemetery.

 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mrs. Smith’s name to Calvary Baptist Church, 824 S. Fifth St., Ironton, Ohio 45638.

Thomas Garrett

Thomas Brent Garrett, 57, of Chesapeake, died Thursday, June 25, 2020, at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington, West Virginia.

 

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, by Pastor Jute Sizemore. Burial will follow in Spring Valley Memory Gardens, Huntington, West Virginia. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Steven Clark

Steven Herbert Clark, 70, of Proctorville, died on Sunday, June 28, 2020, at home.

 

He is survived by his wife, Teresa Clark.

 

Funeral service will be held at 11 AM, Thursday at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville. Visitation will be held at 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Rhonda Hall

Rhonda Iris Hall, 53, of Kenova, West Virginia, died Monday June 29, 2020, at The Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House of Huntington, West Virginia.

 

There will be no services.
