Rhonda Kemp

Oct. 19, 1966 – July 2, 2020

 

Rhonda K. Moore Kemp went with the angels from her home in Trinity, Florida to Heaven to be with her Heavenly Father.

 

He will comfort her, take care of her and take away all her suffering and grief.

 

She was the daughter of the late Theodore and Linda Moore of South Point.

 

She graduated from Coal Grove High School and Marshall University where she obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.

 

She was a captain in the United States Air Force.

 

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by one precious sister, Joyce Linda; and one amazing son, Gary Clifford Chapman on June 26, 2020.

 

In addition to her mother, survivors include three children, Amanda, Jennifer and David Chapman; her husband, Stephen Kemp; three brothers, Teddy Moore, William Moore and Gary Moore; and three sisters, Tammy Lisee, Ida Montgomery and Betty Humphreys.

 

She was a sweet and loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and aunt.

 

 

Albert Jones

Albert Jones, 78 of Ironton, passed away Friday, July 3, 2020, at a local nursing home facility.

 

Mr. Jones was a member of the United States National Guard and was a truck driver for several years.

 

He is survived by close friends, Paul and Debbie Kelley and David Smith

 

There will a memorial service held at a later date.

Clarence Botkins

April 3, 1935–July 4, 2020

 

Clarence Frederick Botkins, 85, of Ironton, passed away Saturday, July 4, 2020, at Harbor Health Nursing Home.

 

The Ironton native was born April 3, 1935, the son of the late Jesse Dail Curtis Botkins and Fannie Horsely Botkins Walters.

 

Mr. Botkins was a graduate from Pedro High School and a former molder for Dayton Malleable. He served in the United States Navy and was a member of Sharon Baptist Church.

 

He was preceded in death by a son, Frederick Lee Botkins; daughter-in-law Barbara Horner Botkins; grandson, Jamie Maynard; grandson, Charles E. Maynard; and brothers Bill Botkins and Richard Botkins.

 

He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Botkins; son, Johnny (Christi) Botkins; daughters, Connie (Charles) Maynard; Pamela (Bill) Henderson, Jewell (David) Hackworth; Terri (Penny) Botkins and Angela (Charlie) Sisler; and son Mike Botkins all of Ironton; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren; brothers, Ronnie (Sherry) Botkins and Donnie (Glenna) Botkins; sisters, Mary Lou Vanentine and Jeannie (Dave Barnecut; and numerous nieces and nephews.

 

He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and others who knew him.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 S. Seventh St., Ironton, with Rev. Steve Harvey officiating. Burial will follow in the Botkins Family Cemetery, Rock Hollow Road, Ironton.

Cheryl Williams

 

Cheryl J. Williams, 71, of Shoals, West Virginia, died Saturday, July 4, 2020.

 

A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday at Truth Independent Baptist Church in Lavalette, West Virginia.

 

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made for cancer research.

Stanley Fogal, 36, of Coal Grove, died Saturday, July 4, 2020.

 

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 S. Seventh St., Ironton.

Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery. Visitation for friends and family will be Wednesday, 11 a.m. until time of the service at the funeral home.

Linda Kay Bowman, 76, of Huntington, West Virginia, died Friday July 3, 2020, at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington, West Virginia.

 

Funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Friday at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville.

Burial will follow in Woodmere Memorial Park, Huntington, West Virginia. Visitation will be held 6–8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Sally Ann Spence, 79, of Willow Wood, died Saturday July 4, 2020, at The Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House of Huntington, West Virginia.

 

Funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Wednesday at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, by Rev. Eddie Salmons. Burial will follow in Perkins Ridge Cemetery, Willow Wood. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

William M. Suiter, 83, of Chesapeake, died Friday, July 3, 2020, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, Huntington, West Virginia.

 

He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Bailey Suiter.

 

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point, with Pastor Mark Roach and Dr. Phil Suiter officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Gardens, South Point. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10–11 a.m. Wednesday.

Lonnie Freeman Berry II, 45, of Huntington, West Virginia, died on Sunday, June 27, 2020, at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington, West Virginia.

Joshua Arthur Jiles, 36, of Ironton, died Sunday, July 5, 2020, with his wife by his side.

 

He is survived by his loving wife, Amanda Jenkins Jiles, and six beautiful children.

 

A memorial service will be 7 p.m. Friday at Freedom Baptist Church, Oakridge Road, Kitts Hill, with Pastor Matt Dillon officiating, followed by a balloon release in Joshua’s memory.
