Work is beginning on the new Lawrence County Senior Center, which will be located at the county fairgrounds and will serve members of the Sybene-Chesapeake Senior Center. Darlene Green, director of the center, said bulldozers and other equipment began moving earth at the site on Tuesday. A groundbreaking took place at the site last month. The center is expected to be complete and opened this fall.
