Cheryl Davis

Sept. 17, 1973–Nov. 7, 2024

Cheryl Anne Davis, 51, of Ironton, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 7, 2024, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky.

Born on Sept. 17, 1973, in Ironton, Cheryl was the beloved daughter of Gary and Frances (Young) Rambacher, also of Ironton.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Davis, who passed away on Oct. 25, 2024.

A 1991 graduate of Ironton High School, Cheryl went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in Recreational Therapy from Ohio University. She was a member of Central Christian Church in Ironton and also attended Oakland Chapel.

Cheryl cherished her family, friends, and her two beloved dogs, who she lovingly referred to as her “fur babies.”

She was known for her thoughtfulness, often checking in on loved ones and sending thoughtful gifts and cards that brightened their days. Together, Cheryl and Jesse shared a deep love. They organized many poker runs to raise funds for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital—a cause close to their hearts.

Cheryl is survived by her parents; her two stepdaughters, Lori (Rusty) Lewis, of Franklin Furnace, and Noel Dawn Hall, of Pawley’s Island, South Carolina; and her two brothers, Lee (Donna) Rambacher, of Columbus, and Brian (Christy) Rambacher, of Garner, North Carolina.

She also leaves behind five cherished grandchildren: Will (Tina) McKenzie, Jessica Bryant, Sarah Anne Johnson, Leah Bryant, and Holly Elizabeth Hall; seven great-grandchildren: Caliber, Brady, Landon, Layla, Logan, Lukas, and Beau; and step-grandchildren, Gunnur and Griffin Lewis. Cheryl is also remembered by her niece, Ashley (Andrew) Whitman, and grand-nephew, Josias Whitman; and her nephews, Trevor (Allison) Rambacher of Findlay, and Collin (Molly Swisher) Rambacher of Waterford, New York. Her presence will be dearly missed by a multitude of extended family members and friends.

A funeral service honoring both Cheryl and Jesse will be 3 p.m. Saturday at the Tracy Brammer-Monroe Funeral Home, located at 518 S. Sixth St., Ironton, with Pastor Lenny Campbell officiating.

Family and friends are welcome to gather for visitation beginning at 1 p.m. until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in their memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or to the Lupus Foundation of America, Inc., 2121 K Street NW, Suite 200, Washington, DC 20037.
