Huntington, W.Va. — OVP Health, a Huntington, West Virginia, based provider of inpatient and outpatient health care services in West Virginia, Kentucky, Ohio and Virginia, has hired Greg Thompson, JD, MA, of Huntington, as President of Foster Care Services. In his role, Thompson is responsible for developing fully-licensed foster care and independent living programs for children, young adults and families in West Virginia, Kentucky and Ohio. Those programs will be part of a new OVP Health division called OVP Family.

Thompson comes to OVP Health after a 19-year career at NECCO, Inc., where he served most recently as vice president of Independent Living and Ohio executive state director. He also held positions there as program director, case manager and foster parent recruiter. A graduate of Marshall University with Bachelor and Master of Arts degrees in political science, Thompson also holds a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law in Louisville, Kentucky.

“Since its founding, our company’s number one Core Value has been Family, so it was a logical progression for OVP Health to expand its service lines to include a division called OVP Family, with a singular focus on child, young adult and family welfare.”

“I’ve been incredibly fortunate in my career to get the chance to work with and for countless foster children, young adults, and families throughout our region and beyond, and I’m truly honored and extremely excited to have the opportunity to join the OVP Family with the goal of revolutionizing foster care and related services as we know them,” said Thompson. “OVP Health has a tremendous legacy and impact in our region for the amazing work they have always done to help so many in need. There is an exciting opportunity here to build upon our existing, comprehensive array of medical and behavioral services to provide and foster a truly healthier community, beginning with our most vulnerable children.”
