A.J. Owens of Waterloo, right, explains a few things to his son, Drew, about a new tractor during the 1999 Lawrence County Ag Field Day at the Paul Higgins farm in Linnville. Organized by the Lawrence County Extension Service, the Natural Resources Conservation Service and the Lawrence County Soil and Water Conservation District, the field day featured exhibits of electric fencing and pasture grazing techniques as well as conservation examples. Examples of tobacco production, a children’s petting zoo and food were sponsored by Higgins Chevrolet, Pick ‘N Save, Dickess Market, Pepsi and Gallagher Power Fencing.
