Donald King

Donald W. King, of Dayton, passed away on March 25, 2012, at the age of 84.

He was born in Ironton. He was the beloved husband of Hideko and loving father to Christina (Douglas) and Ruby (Michael) and proud grandfather to Grant and Julius.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Christina and Arthur King; a brother, Arthur, Jr. and sister, Dorothy.

He is survived by his sisters Nancy Brown, Katherine Roberts, Margaret Barr and a long list of nieces and nephews. He was a veteran of Foreign Wars, serving in both the U.S. Navy and U.S. Air Force.

Funeral services will be at Thompson, Hall and Jordan, 11400 Winton Road, Forest Park, Monday. Viewing will be at 11 a.m. Memorial service will be at noon. Reception will follow at the Forest Park Senior Activity Center, 11555 Winton Road, Forest Park. Norma Brumfield

Norma June Reynolds Brumfield, 89, of Waterloo, passed away Wednesday, March 28, 2012, at Holzer Medical Center in Gallipolis.

The Rainelle, W. Va., native was born July 8, 1922, the daughter of the late John Randolf Reynolds and Lutena Kincaid Reynolds. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Burkle Ernest Brumfield.

Mrs. Brumfield attended Green Sulfer Springs Schools, was a homemaker and a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a 42-year charter member at the Highway Baptist Church in Aid where she was a member of the ladies circle. Church was her life. She was a teacher of young people and worked in youth groups winning souls to Christ starting with Waterloo Methodist Church. She dedicated her life in service to the Lord until her health began to fail her. She also was a writer of poems and short stories.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a stillborn brother and a sister, Pansy May Reynolds.

She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Barbara Elaine and John Miller of Seal, Ala.; a son, Burkle “Butch” Brumfield Jr. of Pedro; a son and daughter-in-law, John and Joy Brumfield of Kitts Hill; a daughter and son-in-law: June “Sissy” and James Dillon of Kitts Hill; a son, Timothy Brumfield of Waterloo; a sister, Eloise Hall of Point Pleasant, W.Va.; 17 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Phillips Funeral Home with Pastor Chris Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Bradshaw Cemetery. Visitation will be noon until the time of the service Saturday. To offer condolences to the family, please visit www.phillipsfuneralhome.net.

 

Pearl McMaster

Pearl A. McMaster, 87, of Chesapeake, passed away Thursday, March 29, 2012, at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington, W.Va. He was born June 2, 1924, in Chesapeake, son of the late Fred and Liza Jane Elkins McMaster.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty.

He is survived by his son, Tom (Patti) McMaster, of Ironton; two daughters, Pearlene (Dean) Kuher of Huntington, W.Va., and Mary Jane (Bob) Freels of Kitts Hill; eight grandchildren, Scott, Cindy, Jeff, Timmy, Kristen, Amanda, Melody and Penny and six great grandchildren Bryce, Kennedy, Alexa, Alanie, Victoria and Emily.

He was a member of Leatherwood Missionary Baptist Church. He retired from Martha White Mills in Huntington, WV.

Funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday at Hall Funeral Home by Pastor Mike Huff. Burial will follow in Rome Cemetery, Proctorville. Visitation will be 6 – 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/hall.

 

Mary Fowler

Mary Margaret Fowler, 57, of Middleport, died Thursday, March 29, 2012, at her residence. She was the wife of Tom Fowler, who survives. Arrangements are pending at Hall Funeral Home.

 

Randall Savage

Randall Lee Savage, 73, of Greenup, died Tuesday March 27, 2012.

William Legg

William J. Legg, 85, of Peru, Ind., died Wednesday, March 28, 2012, his residence. Funeral will be 1:30 P.M., Saturday at the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home, 84 West Main in Peru, Ind., with Chaplain Mike Morcraft officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Terri Chaffins

Terri Chaffins, 48, of Ironton, joined her mom and daughter in heaven, passing away at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center Wednesday, March 28, 2012.

She was born Aug. 1, 1963, a daughter of the late William and the late Louise Ward Green. Terri was a home maker and was of the Protestant faith.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a daughter, Tracy Chaffins White; two sisters, Mary Sue and Alice Green and a brother, William Orland Green.

Survivors include her husband, James “Jim” (Samantha) Chaffins; a son, James William “Jimmy” Chaffins; two brothers, Paul (Kathy) Green and Jack (Loretta) Green both of Bucyrus; three sisters, Margaret “Candy” (John) Burks of Pinegrove, Nancy (Gerald) Mulkey of Bucyrus, and Jerri (Jim) Hurst of Franklin Furnace; four grandchildren, Waylon, John, Eli and Wyatt Chaffins.

Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of the Brown Funeral Chapel with Pastor Robert Chaffins officiating. Burial will follow in the Haverhill Cemetery. Friends may call from 1- 3 p.m. Saturday at the chapel. Family and Friends will serve as pallbearers. Memorial donations should be made to the chapel to help the family with expenses. Sandra Ford

Sandra Lutz Ford 57, of Ironton, died today, March 30, 2012, at the Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Russell, Ky. Arrangements are pending at the Brown Funeral Chapel.

 

Bessie Huff

Bessie Leedy-Huff, 88, of Brush Creek, died Wednesday, March 28, 2012, at Community Hospice Care Center.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church of Russell, 101 Ashland Drive, Russell, Ky. Burial will follow at the Kirby Flats Cemetery in Boyd County.
