Waterford rallies to down Green, 41-18

WATERFORD — The Waterford Wildcats scored 35 points in the fourth quarter to beat the Green Bobcats 41-18 on Friday.

Green (3-4) led 12-6 after three quarters on a 56-yard run by Robbie Applegate and a 27-yard scoring pass from Chris Applegate to Kyle Frazier.

But the Wildcats (2-5) scored 35 unanswered points to lead 41-12 with 3:36 to play.

Hunter Munjas — scored four touchdowns — got the first of his three fourth quarter scores on a 33-yard run and Devon Patterson passed to Wyatt Porter for the conversion and a 14-12 lead.

Munjas came back with an 8-yard touchdown run with 7:07 left. He ran for the conversion and the Wildcats led 22-12.

Things went bad quickly for Green as Austin Lang returned an interception 34 yards for a touchdown 22 seconds later and it was 28-12.

The Bobcats went right back to the air with similar results as Munjas picked off a pass and ran it back 15 yards for the touchdown. Josh Stewart’s conversion kick pushed the lead to 35-12.

Stewart added a 1-yard scoring run with 3:36 left and it was 41-12.

Levi Mollett ran 25 yards for a touchdown for Green with 16 seconds to play to cap the scoring. Hutner Munjas scored four touchdowns with three coming in the fourth quarter, one on a 15-yard interception return. Austin Lang had a 34-yard interception return for a score in the fourth quarter.
