Lady Panthers top Pt. Pleasant

POINT PLEASANT, W.Va. — The Chesapeake Lady Panthers picked up a 4-1 win over Point Pleasant on Saturday in a soccer game.

Point Pleasant took a 1-0 lead on a goal by Allison Smith, but Chesapeake answered with a goal by Carly McFarland midway through the half and then Jackie Nelson hit a goal from 35 yards out to take a 2-1 halftime lead.

Kierra Kerns scored both second half goals for Chesapeake — Nelson had an assist — and the defense held Point Pleasant scoreless.

Chesapeake goalie Jillian Ellis had six saves. The Lady Panthers also had 23 shots on goal to 13 for Point Pleasant.

The Lady Panthers (6-5-1) play at South Point at 7 p.m. Monday. The game will be senior night for Chesapeake.
