Ruth Griffith

June 25, 1936 — Nov. 29, 2012

Ruth Ann Griffith, 76, of Catlettsburg, Ky., formerly of Ironton, passed away Thursday, Nov. 29, 2012, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky. The Ironton native was born June 25, 1936, a daughter to the late, Harvey and Ester (Thomas) Ratliff. Ruth was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Griffith.

Ruth was a 1954 graduate of Pedro. She went on to work as an office manager at Henthorn’s Cleaners and Launderers with 25 years of service. Ruth was of the Baptist faith. She was also a member of Lucky Star Square Dance Club.

Ruth is survived by three daughters, Vicki Duley of Ashland, Connie (Randall) Sharp of Waterloo and Kim Griffith of Ironton; four grandchildren, Crystal Gussler of Ashland; John (Tracy) Sharp of Ironton, Candace (Dave) Horn of Ironton and J.C. Griffith of Ironton; five great-grandchildren, Cody Gussler of Ashland, Mackenzie Gussler of Ashland, Emily Sharp and Lukas Sharp both of Waterloo, and Charles Arthur of Ironton; and her companion of several years, Frank Cole and his family.

In addition to her parents and husband, Ruth was preceded in death by six brothers, Jack, Tom, Emerson, Charles, Ray and Johnny Ratliff; and two sisters, Marie Hutton and Martha Lansing.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday at the Tracy Brammer-Monroe Funeral Home with Pastor Gene Brammer officiating. Interment will follow in Woodland Cemetery. Barbara Cochran

Barbara R. Cochran, 64, of Franklin Furnace, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012, at Cabell Huntington Hospital. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, William H. and Mildred Cannan. She is survived by her husband Bill of 47 years; three children, daughters Wendy Avery of Franklin Furnace and Angie Moore of Ironton, and son, William Jr. of Barboursville, W.Va.; four sisters, Florence Smith of Florida, Jane Whealey of Bellefonte, Ky., Patty Cannan of Ironton and Margie Cannan of Lexington, Ky.; one brother, Jimmie Cannan of Columbus; 11 grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

Judy Duty-Scott

Judy Ann Duty-Scott, 66, of Flatwoods, Ky., died Thursday, Nov. 29, 2012, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Ky. She is survived by her husband, Edward Lee Scott.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods, officiated by Pastor Ernie Duty. Burial will follow at Bellefonte Memorial Gardens in Flatwoods.
