Byron Hannon

Byron P (Barney) Hannon, 87, of Ironton died on Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2012, at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital. He was born Aug. 18, 1925, the son of the late Raymond and Anne Mayne Hannon.

He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, a U.S. Navy veteran and a member of the Ironton Country Club. He was retired from Allied Chemical South Point. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Marguerite (Margo) Isaac Hannon of Ironton; two daughters, Jackie Vanhoose of Greenup, Ky. and Terri Hannon of Ironton; one son, Rick (Hondo) Hannon of Ironton; one brother, B.J. Hannon of Ironton; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Saint Joseph Catholic Church Ironton, O’Keefe Baker Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Ralph Walters

Feb. 6, 1928-Dec. 23, 2012

Ralph T. Walters, 84, of Ironton died on Sunday, Dec. 23, 2012, at home. He was born Feb. 6, 1928 in Ashland Ky., the son of the late Ralph W. and Eunice Jane Thompson Walters. He was a WWII Army veteran and member of South Point Masonic Lodge, a 32-degree member of the Valley of Cincinnati Scottish Rite and a member of NRA. He retired from Armco Steel shipping department of Ashland Works. Preceding him in death was his wife Mildred Walters and one son James (Jimmy) Walters.

Survivors include three daughters and two sons-in-law, Sharon M. Walters of Ironton, Carolee and John Rowe of Columbus, Ga., and Amanda and Jeff Roush of Coal Grove, with a special thanks to Jeff for helping Ralph; one sister, Ruth Modean Downs of Ashland, Ky.; and one sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Robert (Phyllis) Terrell of Corbin, Ky. Grandchildren include Rebecca Walters, Breanne Best, Katie Roush, Lindsay Roush and Jeremy Roush.

Visitation will be on Friday from 10 a.m. until noon at O’Keefe Baker Funeral Home. Funeral will be at noon Friday at the funeral home with Dave Saunders officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery Section P with VFW Post 8850 performing military honors.
