Jean Saylor

Jean B. Saylor, 87, of Ironton, passed away Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky. The Ironton native was born June 13, 1925, the daughter of the late Albert F. and Nola Saunders Bodmer. She was the widow of Curt Saylor who preceded her in death on Sept. 1, 1997.

Mrs. Saylor was a 1943 graduate of Ironton High School and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ironton. She was a former plant manager’s secretary and also worked in the accounting department for Dow Chemical for many years. She enjoyed reading, gardening, ceramics and genealogy.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three brothers, Ralph, Don and Fred Bodmer; and two sisters, Erma Bodmer and Helen DuFore.

She is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Lowell and Tina Bodmer of Ironton; nephew and his wife, Neil and Claris DuFore Jr. of Ironton; nephew, Steve Bodmer of Ironton; niece and her husband, Denise and Wes Booker of Ironton; niece, Cindy Bodmer of Marietta; niece and her husband, Lynn and Aaron Scaife of Wheelersburg; niece and her husband, Becky and Troy Halligan of League City, Texas; nephew, Michael Bodmer of Grove City; nephew and his wife, Randy and Stacy Bodmer of Ironton; sister-in-law, Mary Bodmer of Ironton; sister-in-law, Joyce Bodmer of Ironton; step-daughter and her husband, Linda and Robert Kersey of Lexington, Ky., step-daughter and her husband, Sonja and Everett Sharp of Tuscaloosa, Ala.

Funeral mass will be 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father David Huffman officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery. Claudia Holland

Claudia Royal Holland, 60, of Ironton, died Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013, at Community Hospice Care Center, Ashland, Ky. Claudia is survived by her husband, Roger L. Holland. Funeral services will be noon Wednesday at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point, with Pastor Douglas C. Carter officiating. Burial will follow at Woodland Cemetery, Ironton.
