Glenna Wilson

Glenna Nelson Wilson, 96, of Ironton died on Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013 at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky. She was born Aug. 31, 1916, in Milton, W.Va., the daughter of the late W.T. Chapman and Vesta Weatherholt. She moved to Ironton at the age of 3.

A member of Sugar Creek Church since June 6, 1951, Glenna worked in the Rock Hill Schools as a cook. She was the widow of Orlyn Nelson, and Raymond Wilson. Also preceding in death are two sisters, Anita Shutt and Selma Roush; one brother, Lemuel Chapman; two sons, James E. Nelson and John William “Bill” Nelson; one son-in-law, James Roberts; and one granddaughter Andrea. Survivors include two daughters, Glenna (James) Riffe, of Ironton; and Reba Roberts of Austin, Texas; one son, Robert (Ann) Nelson of Ironton; two daughters in-law, Jane Nelson and Jackie Nelson of Ironton; one sister and brother in-law, Lillian (Mack) Dickess of Ironton; grandchildren including, James (Kim) Nelson, John Nelson, Jeffrey Nelson, Frankie Roberts, Leslie Roberts, Chris Roberts, Chad Roberts, James Riffe, Lisa(John) Riffe Rogers, Brianna Nelson (Rusty) Lyons, Becky Nelson (Donald) Pancake, and Thomas Nelson; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Funeral will be on at 11 a.m. Thursday at O’Keefe-Baker Funeral Home with Roger Pierce officiating. Burial will be in Sugar Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 until 11a.m. Thursday. Memorials are requested to Ashland, Ironton Community Hospice, 1538 Central Avenue Ashland, KY 41101.

 

 

Billy Callihan

Billy Joe Callihan, 76, of Flatwoods Ky., died Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky. Funeral service will be at the Advance Memorial United Methodist Church, 1007 Bellefonte Road, Flatwoods, at 1 p.m. Friday by Pastor Mark Wilson and Don Young. Burial will follow at Bellefonte Memorial Gardens in Flatwoods. Visitation will be 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the church. Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods is charge of arrangements. Ernest Hall Jr.

Ernest B. Hall Jr., 64, of Proctorville, died Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013, at home. He is survived by his wife, Clorinda Rood Hall. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Hall Funeral Home, Proctorville. Burial will be in Miller Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
