Kelli Jones

Dec. 23, 1966 — Feb. 14, 2013

 

Kelli Jones, 46, passed away Feb. 14, 2013, in Witchita Falls, Texas. Kelli was born Dec. 23, 1966, to Charles and Joan (Holley) Fletcher in Ironton. She was a loving person with a heart of gold and always made those around her laugh. Kelli will forever live on in the hearts of her family and friends.

Kelli is survived by her parents, Charles Fletcher of Dayton and Joann Fletcher of Tallahassee, Fla.; three children, Ashli Canada of Dayton, David Jones of Witchita Falls and Na’Keisha Jones of Shreveport, La.; a brother, Charles R. Fletcher of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; and seven grandchildren, Jeremiah, Joreeh, Sha’Niya, A’Myricole, Da’Riya, Kennady and A’Blessyn.

Lunn’s Colonial Funeral Home in Witchita Falls handled the arrangements.

 

 

James Dewitz

Aug. 29, 1920 — Feb. 20, 2013

 

James W. Dewitz Sr., 92, of Dunnellon, Fla., passed away Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013. He was born to the late Carl and Myrtle Dewitz on Aug. 29, 1920, in Lawrence County.

He was preceded in death by five sisters and two brothers. Surviving are two sons, Jim Dewitz of Dunnellon, and Mark and Linda Dewitz of Ironton; three grandchildren, Mark Dewitz II of Dunnellon, Tammy (Dewitz) Rowe and Larry of Ironton, and Ryan Dewitz of St. Petersburg, Fla.; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He served 12 years in the U.S. Army and served in WWII and the Korean War. He was a member of the Riverland Baptist Church of Dunnellon.

A graveside memorial will be held at the Florida National Military Cemetery in Bushnell, Fla. Arrangements are pending.

 

 

David Spradlin

March 21, 1956 — Feb. 19, 2013

 

David Ray Spradlin, 57 of Ashland, Ky., formerly of Ironton, passed away Feb. 19, 2013, at King’s Daughters Medical Center.

He was born March 21, 1956, a son of Bessie (Betty) Murphy Spradlin of Ashland and the late Elliott Spradlin. David was a painter and of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Donny Kay Spradlin; a sister, Linda Sue Carmen; and a nephew, Douglas Dwayne Carmen.

In addition to his mom at home, he is survived by a sister, Brenda Kelly and her husband Mark; a niece, Tammy Sue Carmen; a great-nephew, Brady Douglas Carmen and his wife Rebel; two great-great-nieces, Braylyn Jade Carmen and Alexis Taylor Moore, all of Ashland; and a host of family and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in the chapel of the Brown Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Jeff Cremeans officiating. Burial will follow in Sugar Creek Cemetery. Friends may call from 9 a.m. until time of services at the chapel. Friends may share memories or condolences with the family of the Facebook page of the Brown Funeral Chapel.

 

 

Virgil Burnette

Virgil “Fred” Burnette, 71, of Madisonville, Tenn., formerly of Lawrence County, died Monday, Feb. 18, 2013, at Sweetwater Hospital in Sweetwater, Tenn. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Burnette; son and daughter-in-law, John William and Kendra Burnette, of Virginia Beach, Va.; daughter and son-in-law, Shari and Jeff B. Watson, Madisonville; grandchildren, Clay Watson, Grant Watson, Meagan Burnette, Hunter Burnette and Hannah Abney; a great-granddaughter Layla; a brother, Jim Burnette; and nieces Amy Burnette and Carol Ann Burnette.

Private graveside services will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. Arrangements by Biereley-Hale Funeral Home, Madisonville.

 

 

Imogene Roberson

Imogene Ward Roberson, 97 of Burlington, N.C., died Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013. A graveside service will be held at Bellefonte Memorial Gardens, Flatwoods, Ky., today at 1 p.m. There will be no visitation. Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods in charge of final arrangements and online condolences may be left for the family at www.carmanfuneral.com

 

 

Corey Day

Corey Shane “Buck” Day, 38, of Huntington, W.Va., died Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013. There will be no services Hall Funeral Home, Proctorville, assisted the family with arrangements. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/hall.

 

 

Ernest Francis

Ernest Francis Jr., 60, of West Portsmouth, formerly of Ironton, died Saturday Feb. 16, 2013, at the SOMC Hospice Care Center in Portsmouth. Graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the Sugar Creek Cemetery. Brown Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

 

Lola Heaberlin

Lola Sherry Heaberlin, 50, of Huntington, W.Va., died Monday, Feb. 18, 2013, at home. There will be services at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Hall Funeral Home.
