Martha Hager

April 12, 1932-March 17, 2013

Martha Loraine Thompson Hager, 80, of Ironton, passed away Sunday, March 17, 2013, at a local health care center. The Grey Eagle, W.Va., native was born April 12, 1932, the daughter of the late Mack and Martha Wilkes Thompson.

Mrs. Hager attended Barboursville Schools and the Ashland Business College. She was a seamstress for 35 years for Corbin Limited. She was a member of Glorious Church of God in Chesapeake. She was a lifetime member of the DAV Auxiliary #134 in Pikeville, Ky.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ruford D. Hager. who passed away in Aug. 12, 1995; one brother, Jim Thompson; three sisters, Pauline Thornburg, Maxine Fama and Irene Parsley; and a grandson, Daniel Lee Hager II.

She is survived by son and daughter-in-law,  Mack and Brenda Hager of Granite City, Ill.;

son and daughter-in-law, Ruford Jr. and Sharon Hager of Barboursville, W.Va.; son and daughter-in-law; Daniel and Sharon Hager of Luling, La.; son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Jenny Hager of Ironton;

son, Ron Hager of Ironton; son, Rick Hager of Ironton; son, Walter Hager of Ironton; son and daughter-in-law, Nathaniel and Charlyn Hager of Hagerhill, Ky.; sister,Christine Howell of Ozark, Ala.; 22 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Monday at Woodland Cemetery with Rev. Timothy Gillette officiating. Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. Sunday at Phillips Funeral Home. To offer condolences to the family please visit www.phillipsfuneralhome.net.

 

Bertha Stewart

Bertha Dee Stewart, 94, of Lee’s Summit, Mo., formerly of Franklin Furnace, died Friday, March 15, 2013.  Visitation is scheduled for 6-8 p.m. Friday at Tracy Brammer-Monroe Funeral Home and a graveside service is scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday at Woodland Cemetery in Ironton, Ohio with Pastor Steve Harris officiating. Helen Franz

Helen Franz, 88, of Ironton, died Thursday, March 21, 2013, at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Ashland, Ky.  Arrangements are pending at the Tracy Brammer – Monroe Funeral Home.

 

Margie C. Harrison-Farmer

Margie Christine Hightower Harrison Farmer, 85, of Flatwoods, Ky., died at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky., March 20, 2013.

She is survived by her husband, Clarence Farmer.

Funeral services will be held this evening at the First Baptist Church of Flatwoods at 7 p.m. with visiting hours from 5-7 p.m. at the church. Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods, Ky., was entrusted with the arrangements.

There will be an additional visitation in Hpokinsville, Ky., on Saturday, March 23 from 12-2 p.m. at the Maddux-Fiqua-Hinton Funeral Home, 700 Country Club Drive in Hopkinsville with burial and graveside service at 2:30 p.m. at Green Hill Memorial Park in Hopkinsville.
