Terry Floyd Jr.

Terry Allen Floyd Jr. was born Feb. 28, 1972, in Port Charlotte, Fla., and died April 13, 2013, in Huntington W.Va. Terry is survived by one son AlanMichael C. Floyd of Arcadia; parents Danny and Sharon Collins of Arcadia; one brother Shawn D. (Dawn) Collins of Cape Coral; one niece Hayley Collins of Cape Coral and two nephews Jordan Collins of Sheridan, Wyoming and Jeremy Collins of Cape Coral.

He is also survived by parents, Terry and Marsha Floyd of Arcadia; Brother, Shane Floyd of Arcadia; two sisters Sheri (Tuan) Mguyen and Misty Floyd, both of Arcadia; and many uncles, ants, cousins and friends.

He was predeceased by his grandparents Floyd S. (Bill) and Allean LayPort, Henry Collins, Jeanette Collins Schreiber, Merle Floyd and Velma Floyd Kelsey.

Terry lived in Arcadia from birth until he visited Ohio in 2007 and chose to stay but missed everyone here very much and longed to come home.

Terry always had a love for life and a kind gentle heart. He went the extra mile for family, friends and even strangers. He touched a special place in everybody’s heart he came into contact with and will never be forgotten.

Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Home in Arcadia. Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the Arcadia Church Of God in Arcadia on NE Oak St.

 

 

Vicki Allen

Vicki Lynn Deer Allen, born July 30, 1951, passed away on April 15, 2013, due to an unexpected illness at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital. Vicki was the daughter of Gerald and Naomi Deer of Ironton. She was preceded in death by her husband Johnny R. Allen; her brother Gerald Anthony Deer; her nephew Eric Anthony Deer; her paternal grandparents Fred and Alberta Deer; and maternal grandparents Lonnie Herald and Nellie Davidson. Vicki has two daughters, Bethany Hope Reed and Allison Ruth Brooks (Jessica Kirkpatrick) both of Columbus. She has three surviving nephews Jeremy Lee Deer, James Heath Garrett Deer of Ironton, and Joshua Deer of Naples, Fla. She also has two great-nephews Landon and Levi Deer.

Vicki was a graduate of Ironton High School (class of 1969) and a graduate of Mount Vernon Nazarene College, where she obtained an associate’s degree in music and attended Morehead State University. She was an extremely talented pianist and was an organist at Christ Episcopal Church in Ironton. She also scored music for Rome Studios in Columbus and was a private piano teacher while living in Columbus. She was a caseworker for 20 years with the Lawrence County Department of Human Services where she showed special attention and love to her clients. She was a member and attended Faith United Nazarene church in Ironton.

Anybody who knew Vicki knew that she was an extremely dedicated mom, daughter, sister, aunt, friend and coworker. She was beautiful, talented and devoted to her family and friends. Vicki’s daughters would like to thank the nursing staff at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital for the outstanding care in her time of need. Funeral will be held noon Thursday at O’Keefe Baker Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral Home. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery.

 

 

Michael Archer

Michael James Archer, 34, husband of Kimberly Ann Archer of Proctorville, formerly of Huntington, W.Va., died Saturday, April 13, 2013, at home. Private services will be conducted. Judith Ferrell

Judith Ann Scites Ferrell, 72, of Huntington, W.Va., formerly of Proctorville, died Sunday, April 14, 2013, at Heritage Center, Huntington. There will be no visitation. A private family graveside service will be held at Rome Cemetery, Proctorville. Hall Funeral Home, Proctorville, Ohio assisted the family with arrangements. Linda Estep

Rebekah McDavid

Rebekah Leah “Bekah” Stevens McDavid, 27, of Westwood, Ky., died Friday, April 12. 2013, at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter. She was the wife of Adam Craig McDavid. Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Fairview Baptist Church with Pastor Mike Rice. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation is after 5 p.m. today at the church. Preston Family Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

 

 

Mary Stevens

Mary Margaret Stevens, 82, of Westwood, Ky., died Sunday, April 14, 2013, at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky. Funeral will be at 8 p.m. today at Preston Family Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Webster and Brother Gary Salyers. Visitation is from 5 p.m. until service time. Burial will be in Hutchinson Cemetery.

 

 

Reba Ross

Reba Wandale Ross, 87, of Huntington, W.Va., died Monday, April 15, 2013, at Cabell Huntington Hospital. Arrangements are pending at Hall Funeral Home.
