CHESAPEAKE — The Chesapeake Lady Panthers used two big innings to beat the Symmes Valley Lady Vikings 8-1 on Tuesday.

After a scoreless first inning, Chesapeake (7-11) took a 5-0 lead in the second.

Ali Ransbottom singled, Sydnee Hall reached on an error and Breanne Skeens was hit by a pitch. Carrie Brock had a two-run single, Anna Mayo walked and Kelsey Huff doubled to clear the bases.

The Lady Vikings scored in the third on a walk to Stephanie Brown, a single by Autumn Keathley and an error.

The Lady Panthers added three runs in the fifth when Hall and Brock reached on errors, Laura Rice had a two-run triple and Mayo singled.

Melanie Noble pitched a four-hitter for the win. She struck out eight and walked two.
