Courtney graduated from Shawnee State University with an associate degree in radiologic technology. She is employed by Thomas Memorial Hospital in South Charleston, W.Va.

Jacob graduated from Marshall University and Collins Career Center with a degree in radiologic technology. He is employed with Quality Mobile Imaging in Huntington, W.Va.

Courtney is the granddaughter of Marcia and the late Hansford “Bud” Brunty and the late Naomi and Manford “Shorty” Kaneff and the late Jack Adkins.

Jacob is the grandson of the late Norma and Harold Petry and Luzie and George Darner.

Their wedding is planned for June 22, 2013, at Ohio University Southern Campus.
