James Hill

James I. Hill, 56, passed away into the arms of our Lord on Tuesday, June 25, 2013, at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky. He was a former employee of CSX Transportation for 22 years and Light Express Trucking Company. James was a devoted Christian and was baptized by Omer Miller at First Christian Church in Russell, Ky.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Crawford and Marie Davies of Ashland, Ky.; his paternal grandparents, James I. and Grace Hill of Russell, Ky.; and several aunts and uncles. He was also preceded in death by his parents-in-law, Dorsey L. and Bettie J. Hightower of Cumberland, Md., and a beloved brother-in-law Dale E. Hightower of El Reno, Okla.

In addition to his beloved wife of 35 years, Jane, he is survived by his parents, William A. Hill and Nell M. Hill of Florida; his sister and brother-in-law, Donna S. Berends and Dr. John H. Berends of Michigan; brother-in-law, Dennis L. Hightower of Cumberland, Md.; a sister-in-law, Elizabeth A. Hightower of Florida; several nieces and nephews and a grand nephew, Brayden of Michigan. He is also survived by an aunt, Edna Lew Mansfield of Ashland, Ky. and several cousins, and his Christian Family at 10th and Vine Church of Christ in Ironton.

He will be sadly missed by his family, friends and pets who loved him unconditionally.

In honoring James’ wishes, he was cremated under the direction of Steen Funeral Homes in Ashland, Ky.

 

 

Russell Pridemore

Russell D. Pridemore, 74, died Tuesday, June 25, 2013, at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky. Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Carman Funeral Home, Flatwoods, Ky. Visitation is from 6-9 p.m. today.
