SP girls topple Buffalo

RIO GRANDE — This Bacon was sizzling.

Brianna Bacon scored 19 points to lead the South Point Lady Pointers to a 67-53 win over the Buffalo Lady Bisons Saturday at the Rio Grande Classic.

Brooklyn Badgett added 14 points and Brett Justice 13 as South Point improved to 2-1.

Chelsey Parkins led Buffalo (1-1) with 25 points.

Justice and Badgett had 4 points each in the first quarter as South Point took a 14-10 lead. Parkins had 6 points for Buffalo.

Bacon got hot and scored 8 points in the second quarter to match Parkins’ total as the lead grew to 32-22 at the half.

Justice and Bacon combined for 9 points in the third quarter as the Lady Pointers extended their lead to 46-33.

Bacon had 7 more points and Badgett scored 6 in the fourth quarter to offset 7 by Parkins as South Point outscored Buffalo 21-20.

South Point plays at Ironton Monday.
