Lady Vikings comeback falls short

WELLSTON — Emma Wardlow scored 25 points to lead the Whiteoak Lady Wildcats beat the Symmes Valley Lady Vikings 66-55 Saturday at the Lady Rockets’ Classic.

Kalli Hunt scored 16 points and Sierra Ross had 13 points to lead the Lady Vikings (1-6).

Amber Gorman had 12 points and Morgan Campbell 10 for Whiteoak (1-4).

Wardlow scored 7 points in the first quarter as Whiteoak took a 17-6 lead.

The Lady Wildcats extended the lead to 30-17 at the half.

Ross had 8 points in the third quarter and the Lady Vikings sliced a point off the lead to 45-33. Wardlow scored 7 to keep the Lady Wildcats in front.

Hunt scored 9 points in the fourth quarter, but Wardlow also had 9 for Whiteoak to preserve the win.
