Nicholas Kuehne

 

Nicholas Chaise Kuehne, born Dec. 6, 2013, entered his eternal home on Dec. 21, 2013, surrounded by his family. During his brief stay, Nicholas touched the hearts and lives of many.

Nicholas is survived by his parents, Johnathan and Ellen (Cheeks) Kuehne, of Ironton. In addition to his parents, Nicholas is survived by his paternal grandparents, Jerry and Karen Bailey, of Kitts Hill, and Thomas Kuehne, of Ironton; his maternal grandparents, Terry and Carol Reeves, of Richmond, Ky.; paternal great-grandfather, Jerold Kuehne, of Ironton; and maternal great-grandmother, Corinne Partin, of Berea, Ky. He is also survived by uncle Stephen Kuehne and his wife, Elizabeth, of Winchester, Ky.; and uncle Jeremy Bailey and his wife, Julie, of Ironton; as well as a host of numerous loved ones.

Nicholas was welcomed into his eternal home by paternal great-grandparents, William and Mae McDonie and Catherine Kuehne; maternal great-grandparents, Louis Dean and Nancy Asbill Reeves, Carl Lee Swanger and Neville Cheeks. Also ready to receive Nicholas Chaise into Glory were two very special uncles, Adam Chaise Kuehne and Nicholas Wayne Cheeks.

Services will be Thursday at Storms Creek Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Kenny Hurst officiating. Family will be received from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. and public from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. with memorial services immediately after.

Nicholas will be laid to rest at Woodland Cemetery in Ironton. Marie Gool

 

Marie L. Gool, 85, of Ironton, passed away Monday, Dec. 23, 2013, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky. The Lawrence County native was born March 20, 1928, the daughter of the late Bill and Pearl Johnson. She is survived by her husband, Larry G. Gool, whom she married June 2, 1966.

Mrs. Gool was a graduate of Green Township High School. She was a former employee for Wilson’s Sporting Goods and Dow Chemical and a member of First Baptist Church in Ironton.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Marvin Johnson.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Michael Francis Gool, of Columbus; a son, Danny J. Gool and his fiancée, Rhonda Phillips, both of Ironton; a daughter, Joyce and Gene Richards, of Columbus; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a sister, Janet Eaches, of Ironton; a brother, Edward Johnson, of Greenup, Ky.; and half-sisters, Clara Marie Freson, of Cincinnati, and Billie Kershner, of Columbus.

Funeral services will be noon Friday at Phillips Funeral Home with Pastor Eric Barnes officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery and visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Donations may be made to the First Baptist Church, 304 S. Fifth St., Ironton, OH 45638. Linda Fitzer

 

Linda Ann Fitzer, 58, of Westwood, Ky., died Sunday, Dec. 22, 2013, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Ky. There will be a memorial service at a later date. James Kazee Jr.

 

James Owen Kazee Jr., 83, of Flatwoods, Ky., died Sunday, Dec. 22, 2013, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods, Ky., with Pastor Henry Montgomery officiating. Burial will follow at Bellefonte Memorial Gardens in Flatwoods. C. Lynne Miller Callihan, 53, of Flatwoods, Ky., died Monday, Dec. 23, 2013, at her residence. She is survived by her husband, Michael Callihan. The funeral will be 1 p.m. Friday at Wurtland Church of God in Greenup, with the Rev. Ron Evans officiating. Burial will follow at Hall Ridge Cemetery in Ashland, Ky. The viewing will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Wurtland Church of God. Bailey Family Funeral Home in Flatwoods, Ky., has been entrusted with arrangements.
