Arthur Mosely

Arthur Franklin Mosley, 65, of Pedro, passed away Sunday, Feb. 2, 2014, at the St. Mary’s Medical Center-Ironton Campus. The Lawrence County native was born Dec. 9, 1948, a son of the late Juanita Mosley Friend and raised by the late Sam and Sarah Mosley. He is survived by his wife, Frances Russell Mosley, whom he married Aug. 16, 1971.
Mr. Mosley attended Decatur Schools, lived all his life in Lawrence County and was self-employed.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth Howard; and a brother, Larry Friend.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Tina Mosley, of Pedro; a son, Joshua Mosley, of Pedro; a brother,  Homer (Dreama) Friend, of Ironton; a sister, Elsie (Lonnie) Smith, of Franklin Furnace; and a brother-in-law, Elroy “Junior” Howard, of Pedro.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Phillips Funeral Home with pastor Kenny Waller officiating. Burial will follow in Vernon Furnace Cemetery and visitation will be 11 a.m. until time of service on Thursday at the funeral home. Billy Jack Davis, 57, of Ironton, passed away Sunday, Feb.  2, 2014, at his residence. The Grayson, Ky., native was born Aug. 8, 1956, the son of the late Edward T. and Lula Adkins Davis.
Mr. Davis attended Ironton High School and was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ricky Davis.
He is survived by four brothers, Jimmie R. Davis Sr.; Gartrell E. Davis; Robert Davis; and Daniel Davis, all of Ironton; three sisters, Barbara K. Rodgers; of Henderson, Tenn.; Della Griffith, of Olive Hill, Ky.; and Beverly Sue Romano, of Ironton; a special friend, Janet Bowman, of Ironton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
There will be a memorial service at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12 at the Trinity Assembly of God in Coal Grove. Phillips Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements. To offer condolences to the family, please visit www.phillipsfuneralhome.net.
